Graveyard

Well for pumpkins anyways.

For the last few years after Hallowe'en, people have started leaving their pumpkins on the side of the road that goes through Mt. Doug Park. To me it looks like a pumpkin graveyard.
Today I would guess, and I am not good at guess-timating, that there were at least 150 deserted pumpkins lining the logs and fences along the side of the road. These are a few of my favourite images.

This is the one that tried to make a run for it and only made it to the leaves and ferns.

You mean that you all still have your pumpkins and punk kids don't smash them?! Weird, lol.

Great shots!

Nope, they don't get smashed (there were maybe 3 or 4 that were smashed). It's a little bit away from houses so the punk kids would actually have to make an effort to get to them-and around here they are too lazy to bother. There is also a fair bit of traffic that goes through there which would also deter them.

When I was shooting about 5 more pumpkins were "given a new home".

It's pretty neat to drive through-you can't help but smile.
