Non-Beachy Beach Things
Today I went down to Gyro Park and walked along the beach. I tried to find some non-traditional beach things to shoot today.
These are some small lavender-coloured flowers that I found growing around some of the logs. Not bad for the middle of November. A burnt piece of driftwood. I liked the texture of the wood and the bits of sand and other things on it too. Whenever I see wood like this on the beach, the texture always reminds me of reptile skin.
I found a dead crab leg sitting on a log. Maybe not the nicest thing, but it had the neatest blue colour at the claw.
Some rivets (?) on a metal strip bolted into a piece of cement with some sand on it.
The edge of a cement walkway-luckily I managed to keep my feet dry. I liked all the different elements that were there. The shadows in the holes, the rust colour, the green slime, the barnacles, the tide line and the water lapping onto it.
And then there was this funny little dog running towards us. His two feet up in the air and his ears flying...
