My Dad lives in an extended care facility in town. While I was walking around the corner to walk up to the buuilding to visit him yesterday, I noticed the way that the moss was growing on the brick wall that goes around two sides of the building.
The wall has probably been there quite a while, well in Victoria terms anyways, since the original building on the site (St. Joseph's Hospital) was opened in 1876 and they just don't make walls like this anymore.
I find it a bit funny. I was born in St. Joe's and my Dad now lives in what it has become and will now be there until he dies. It's one of the strange twists in life I guess.
